Carissa has never been a coffee drinker, but she's learned a lot at Cafe Imports. She most definitely enjoys the various aromas she smells in the office whenever coffee is being roasted or brewed. Often those aromas remind her of buttered popcorn, and sometimes even of brownies (or so she wishes—and sometimes those things show up at the office, too!).
Carissa is the oldest of five children, with three sisters and one brother. "My poor dad & brother had to put up with five females, although I know that they’d do it all again," Carissa says. She met her husband, Michael, on June 24, 2000, in the arcade at Valleyfair and married him on June 24, 2005. The couple has recently purchased a home in Savage, Minn., and are very excited to set up the new house and make it their "Home.' Carissa is also thankful that both her and Michael's families live in the Twin Cities, so they can see them as much as they want. She says the best part of living close to family is, "so that I can spoil my nieces and nephews."
Carissa took figure skating when she was younger and modestly says she "did all right." Her most memorable moment was when she went to watch the 1998 World’s Figure Skating Championships with her mom. "I have many autographs, pictures and other items I treasure from both of these weekends," she says.
